Concerning swings...

Fun.
Silly.
Thought provoking.
Romantic.
Delightful.
Breezy.
Magnificent.
Charming.
Oh, how to describe it?
Ok, so does anyone else just love swings? :)
We haven't had one for the longest time, but we finally got down to business and just made it. Of course, there is only one, and it is for my little sister. :( So it is a little small for my 5 foot 11 inch frame. However, it made for a nice Father-daughter project for Emily and my Dad and I. Enjoy the pictures!
Emily sports a funny face in the shop.

Getting ready to put it up. Got to love the blowtorch. :-) Perhaps not the most feminine, :/ but they are SO fun.

And Emily steals the camera. Ok, so its not the best photo, but I'd say its a good candid shot for a 4 year old. :-)

Apple Cider Pound Cake

This recipe is amazing! I found it on Hannah's blog, Trusting In His Love. Thank you so much Hannah!

Apple Cider Pound Cake

3 sticks of butter or margarine

6 eggs

3c. all-purpose-flour

1/2tsp. salt

1/2tsp.baking powder

1tsp. ground cinnamon

1/2tsp. ground allspice

1/2tsp. ground nutmeg

1/4tsp. ground cloves

1c. apple cider

1tsp. vanilla extract

Icing:

1/2c. sugar

1/4c. buttermilk

1/2tsp. vanilla extract

1/4tsp. baking soda

Directions:

1. In a large mixing bowl, cream sugar and butter. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir together all dry ingredients; set aside. Add cider and vanilla to sugar, egg and butter mixture. Add dry ingredients to batter mixture. Mix until well blended. Spoon into a greased 10-in. angel food cake pan or fluted tube pan. Bake at 325 F for about 1 hour and 10 minutes or until cake is done. Meanwhile, combine all icing ingredients in a saucepan. Bring to a boil; reduce heat and simmer 10 minutes. While cake is warm, drizzled icing over cake. Enjoy!

Rag Curls!

I was actually very surprised how well these turned out. It was quite easy for me, all I did was sit there and watch Fireproof. :) My grandma put the rags in. I used Penny Raine's e-bookCreatively Simple Rag Curls. You can see her entire selection of books at her bookstore,HERE. What do you think?
(I truly am dreadfully sorry for the closet and quality of pictures, but with the exception of the one below, they are all self portraits, and taken at 11:00 PM!)

Mes parents sont allés en France !

Wow! This post is so long overdue, but better late than never I guess. School has been a whirlwind of work, and fun, and more work... Anyway....My parents went to France!
Isn't this castle *cough* excuse me, school so lovely? My Dad had to go on a two week business trip to Dijon, so my Mom went as well for one of those weeks. Yes, they do make mustard there. :) While my Mom was there they went and toured a whole bunch of castles, so that is the majority of things you will see here. Enjoy the photos! They were taken by my Dad.
I don't know about you all, but this porch thing looks just like the one at Pemberly in P&P 2005.

Absolutely GORGEOUS.
Is this hall not just begging for a floor sweeping gown?

I just love those variegated leaves!
